Matinicus
Matinicus is an island plantation in the Gulf of Maine and in Knox County, organized on October 22, 1840.
According to one observer, this 800 acre 'unspoiled' island out in the Atlantic engenders romanticism.
It is accessible by ferry from Rockland.
