Minot
Minot is a town in Androscoggin County, settled in 1769 and incorporated on February 18, 1802 from a portion of Poland. In 1842 it set off land to form Auburn and adjusted that boundary in 1844 and ceded more land in 1873.
In 1893 it set off land to form part of Mechanic Falls, finally reaching its own current size.
Martin and Moses Crafts established the Minot Shoe Company in 1835 in a portion of the town that was to become part of Auburn.
A growing community in recent decades, Minot has become a residential commuter area for nearby Lewiston-Auburn with its location just west of Auburn on Maine combined Route 11 and 121.
West Minot village is tucked away at the northwest edge of the community, adjacent to Hebron.
