Waldo
Waldo is a town in Waldo County, settled in 1811 incorporated on March 17, 1845 from Waldo Plantation, all of which were named for Samuel Waldo the holder of a patent on large tracts of land in the area.
Located just northwest of Belfast, the town is served by Maine Routes 7, 131, 137 and 203. The Belfast and Moosehead Lake Railway passes through to its terminus in Belfast.
